Hello all,
“Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark.” — Rabindranath Tagore.
Sunrise…
Sky of the sunrise…
Flying birds..
Fishermen going deep in the ocean or river…
Those shades…
Those emotions…
That courage…
That faith…
We can get all these only during sunrise!
Faith to heal, belief to survive and sustain, no matter what. Just like the rising sun is spreading wonderful hues in the sky with a glorious mix of colors ranging from orange, golden, purple, rust, golden, bronze, pink, copper to amber…Rather than scurrying from daily chaos, we can also fill our life with colors, just by being patient, by being faithful and hopeful. This magical event is always different! You can not have the same sky every day! You can not have the same colors every day or every single minute. The changing hues are just like our emotions. They also change every minute. But some of us can enjoy every emotion, some can be stable just like this calm water, while some may be confused.
The period of dawn and dusk is not just the gap between bright day and starry night. They are not just fillers! They are the epitome of hope, of dreams, of endurance, of perseverance, and of reliance. Just like that, in life, there are periods of happiness and sadness! Nothing is permanent. The dawn and dusk of life are also beautiful. We must learn to cherish them.
We love chasing the sunrise and sunset. And our one such chase leads us to Gajana. A peaceful river bank of river Mahisagar. It is a small village near Valvod. (Check our Valvod blog here).
This morning, it was only two of us. The kids were tired yesterday night, so we let them sleep late. And as it was a short drive of an hour, we left at 5:30. We reached just when the sun was peeping behind the river. Few fishermen were already there in the river with 4-5 boats. But the river bank was just for us. We sat there and watched the colors. It was like meditation. Sky changing colors subtly yet so profoundly was a site to behold! It was a feast to the heart and soul. Sunday mornings like this are nectar for the upcoming week…
Just like Leonora Carrington has said, “We went down into the silent garden. Dawn is the time when nothing breathes, the hour of silence. Everything is transfixed, only the light moves.”
Points to consider:
- The river bank is very clean, so please don’t litter.
- Go at the time of sunrise, and I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
- You can take a car till the end, but the last few meters are like an off-road drive.

This location will take you to Gajana village, from there just follow the off road and you will be at river bank.
Distance from Vadodara : 40 km, 1 hour 20 minutes.
That’s it from our side.
See you next week.
