Jojwa : Old dam on Orsang river
Hello all,
You can not escape life and must search for your happiness because the problems and worries will come on your path without asking. You have to look for and find the little moments of joy in your surroundings. And what is the best way to enjoy those moments apart from being in the lap of mother nature?? Because if life hurts, then nature heals…

And thus we went to Jojva village. There is a small and ancient dam built on the Orsang River during the Gaekwad dynasty. The place is in the village, but yet you will feel the peace. Or it might be because we went there in the early morning.

The place is perfect for a monsoon Sunday morning! As it is very near to Vadodara. You can park your car at the temple and go to the dam. You will certainly notice the change in the flow of the river from the level of the dam. You might see people walking on the dam, but it is advisable not to do that as it might be slippery. Villagers walk on the dam, but they tell us not to go.

So this was a short visit to Jojwa village dam, and we were in peaceful and cheerful mode when we returned from there. So if you are a nature lover or a river lover, photographer or peace lover, go visit this place…

can u please guide whether its safe for family or kids to take a dip . the place looks scenic !
Thank you so much. The downstream after the dam is rocky and appears shallow so you can try, but definitely not in the upstream. But locals are the best people. Just confirm with them first. And Orsang river is also known for crocodiles so do check before going into the river. We have asked locals and they said that usually crocodiles don’t come near the dam but it is always better to ask them ahead. Any ways the dam area has wall high enough so they won’t be able to come near dam so it is very safe near the dam. As I always say locals are the best guide we can ask for.
