Narmada Sub Canal Waterfall : Serene Small Waterfalls

Hello all,
Let me take a break from lovely Lahaul Valley this Sunday and take you to the vicinity of Vadodara. Many of you must be thinking that we might not have explored the places in the last few weeks, but we were going to the same places again with our friends and family.
With the increasing use of technology and social media, we are now feeling more close to each other and yet more lonely! It seems that some Threads connect us with quick chats with the entire world, and some Insta Reels might take you the unknown beautiful places, but in the end, when we lay on our beds, what matters is when were we happy during the entire day? Is it while seeing views and likes of your reel on Insta, or replies on your Thread, or while sipping tea on your balcony, or completing your long pending book? Were you happy seeing the post of a so-called friend, whom you barely knew or seeing the innocent smile of your kids when they look at you at the school gate? It is time to rethink our simple pleasures.
Sunday mornings are pure bliss for us because we try to find happiness in the things which don’t cost a penny. We try to feel the connection between us and Mother Nature. The only connection that matters! And to be at peace with oneself and to feel completely grounded, we have to go to Mother Nature. Just dance in the rain barefoot on lush green grass, or sit under the waterfall, hug a tree or take a walk in the woods! Simple yet so so significant!!
So today we went to Narmada Canal near Halol. Yes! yes, we already had our very first post about this place, but today we went there at a small waterfall. The waterfall is at the sub-canal of the main canal. It is near the little village with name of Navi Vasahat on Google Maps.
You can park the car on the side of the main canal. There are roads in the village, but they are narrow, and you might not want to trouble the villagers by parking your cars on the roads. They won’t mind it, but it is always better not to trouble locals unnecessarily.
We also did the same. We parked our car on the opposite side of the canal. From the main Canal Road, you have to walk appx 2 km from the village, and the fields and farms, and you will reach the small cliff.
There are three cascades of falls, and you can sit in between one of them. Just be careful of the algae. The stones might be slippery. The trails were also slippery and muddy because of the rain the previous night. We didn’t know the exact way, so we were following the directions of the villagers.
Don’t follow the Google Maps route because it will take you to the road, which ends at the private property. I have marked the path which we took in the picture below. Just follow Navi Vasahat.
Points to consider:
- The place is very neat and clean, so please don’t litter.
- Monsoon is the best season to go to this place. water might not be clean in rest of the season.
- If it is raining, wear shoes as you will be walking in the fields, and it will be muddy.
- You won’t get any food or water on the way so please take it with you and bring back all the plastic. The place is so clean, we didn’t see any single plastic there and let’s keep it that way.

Just follow the marked route and you will reach to the falls easily.
So that’s t from our side. We wanted to go to place within an hour reach from Vadodara so this was our best option. Let us know if you have already visited this place and share your experiences.
Thank you.
Good work
Thank you….
So sweet and Mature
Thank you…
Went plenty of times to Halol canal whenever rain pours but never ever knew that we can do what u guys did !
Park the car and literally explore !
Great learning
Thank you. We do that often…In fact whenever we are confused where to go, canal is the place for us. We just walk in the fields and roam…
Very good information about unexplored places
Thank you so much for appreciating…
Wow
Beautiful serene 😍
THANK YOU SHWETABEN…
Excellent pictures & amazing place..
Thank you…
When it rains, it pours. – Sasha !
Just worth mentioning that this fall is on only after rains
I went there and was like a stream and no fall
Good description of one simple place and you made it outstanding
Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes this can be a seasonal fall. And apart from monsoon water might get dirty as it is just coming from sub canal. The place was so simple but we enjoyed only because we didn’t have any expectations from it.
Like a river, life doesn’t flow backward
Hope we could just rewind and Pause and do such similar things !

Thank you so much for appreciating. Such small pauses are the best medicines!
Water is the driving force of all nature.” — Leonardo da Vinci
Whats the driving force for kids !
i see they are always with you in all your treks !
Me and my wife have almost trekked since 10 years but without kids ! obviosuly they are adults now but never ever we thought of raising them with this culture
Parenting worth Inspiring !
So true! Whenever we feel down, we go to the water. Be it a river or a fall. We only do hikes which can be done by kids! We are slot trying to increase in difficulty levels. They were our motivation to start all our outings, so can’t think of going without them.
Thank you once again. Hope we can continue this in future.
Sometimes, all you need is a change in scenery !
keep it up Dr !
Thank you so much… Yes! change is the only constant which we need.
It may not be Like the dazzling Skógafoss waterfall in Iceland
But well mentioned of small hike with family!
is the route safe and do you get refreshments as trek may be two three miles or so
Yea! It is not at all a famous place or name or big fall. If we say in Gujarati then it is only small ‘Zarnu’. But small places have their own charm. And you won’t get anything on the way. You have to take food and water with you.
Thank you so much for appreciating.
Happiness comes in rushes when i see your blog abd especially when place is nearby baroda !
Just let go — and fall like a little waterfall.
As said by bob Ross !
Amazing description for a place where google reviews of the place are not to the point!
Small request if u can add this site to the google reveiw it would do a lot to the place and near by people !
Think it over
Thank you so much. Will do that surely. Yes Google reviews are not good, but we thought what is the harm in exploring? Anyway we have been to canal for gazillion time so we just took a chance. And the reason might be that it is more beautiful in Monsoon only as per locals.
Simple Serene yet Amazing !
where do u find such beautiful spots everytime !
Am from surat and cane to know through my patient around padra !
Thank you so much. Yes the place is small but equally beautiful. We just follow the google maps and local villagers!
